I’m looking at moving and with no credit history in the US, how would i get a mortgage for a house? Would it be possible to get a mortgage in Canada for US real estate? Any ideas on this would be really helpful… thanks a million!

You may have trouble with a Canadian bank agreeing to financing the home because of legal jurisdiction’s if there is a problem.
The sellers bank will not care where the money comes from.
Your Canadian credit history will follow you here, you don’t need to worry about loosing it, just as American history follows them.

Do a little research first. Ca homes are on a big downslide in prices. It’s all over the news and internet and is just starting to go down here in SJ and SF. You are better off to rent for a while. Never buy at the peak of a market. And california has historically been very volitile. Don’t let anyone lie to you, especially realtors, because they will lie. Check out realestatedecline.com

Your credit will follow you here, so don’t worry. But you may want to wait for a while to buy a home. So Cal home prices are rediculous and right now, it’s a ’seller’s market’. Try to rent in the meantime until the marker flips again.
