Home in California

Iam currently renting a studio for 1000 a month which isnt to bad but i was wondering if it would be possible to purchase a small house in san francisco if i make a little above 50000 a year.

    Your monthly payment would be approximately 1% of the loan amount.

    You would have a hard time getting a home in the city making only $50K a year unless you had a significant down payment (in the neighborhood of $500K down). You can probably buy a coop in the Tenderloin or Hunters Point – but both of these areas are crime ridden. Try Oakland – there are some good areas of the city (outside of Eastmont and the projects) which are pretty nice.
    You might also try low income and first time buyer homes. Sometimes hard to get into, but worth a try.

    I would dought it. most houses cout over 500,000 in california. Even for the smallest ones.
